Are you still shipping items through Canada Post?

July 11, 2016 - Canada Post has agreed to a 30-day extension for negotiations with CUPW, followed by binding arbitration.  At this time we will be shipping items as normal through Canada Post.  Our item pick up hours will revert back to our normal hours: PICK UP IN PERSON - at 1001 Petrolia Road (near Keele & Steeles) Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

 

 

Where do I start?

New users must first register. Registration is free and easy!

You will be required to create a unique login ID found on the registration page. Your login ID will be a username or nickname you use while bidding on the Platinum Liquidations Inc website. Once your login ID is created, you will need to provide a password as well as valid contact information.

How does the online auction work?

Bidding starts at an item's minimu reserve amount which is $1.00 for the majority of items.  Items are sold to the highest bidder. Buyers will have the opportunity to bid until the end of the auction. Once the auction closes, the winning bidder will be contacted automatically through an email notification. Upon receiving the email notification, the winning bidder will be expected to make arrangements for payment and shipping or collection of the item. The winner will be charged the winning bid amount plus 13% tax and shipping costs if applicable for the item. There are no additional fees.

Bidding can be done either manually one increment at a time or by using the MAXIMUM BID feature. The MAXIMUM BID feature allows the bidder to enter an amount higher than the current minimum increment; the system will bid automatically for the user whenever their current bid is exceeded until the maximum bid is reached.

For example if the current item bid is $5 (with bid increments of $1) and you entered a maximum bid of $10, the system would increase the item bid to $6.  If someone bid the item to $7, then the system would automatically increase the item bid to $8 on your behalf.  This would continue until either the item time runs out or someone bids higher than your maximum bid.  Either way you would receive an email informing that you won the item or that your maximum bid has been exceeded.  If the item bidding exceeds your maximum bid you can enter another maximum bid.

If identical maximum bids are entered by two different bidders, the bidder who entered their bid first will show as the high bidder.

Please note: entering a new maximum bid on an item you already have an ongoing maximum bid with will cause the new maximum to replace the old.

Items are posted for auction durations of at least 7 days, providing ample opportunity for bidders. Auction end times are final and are not extended for last minute bids.

Is the privacy of my information protected?

At Platinum Liquidations Inc. we are committed to protecting the privacy of our customers within our on-line auction. We do not condone the right to sell, rent, or otherwise release registered user information to third parties. Your personal contact information including email address will not be displayed anywhere on our website. Your information will only be accessible in the My Account section, pending you provide your password. 

Online payment processing is securely handled by Beanstream.

Do you have further item inquiries?

You may contact Platinum Liquidations Inc. prior to placing a bid by using the “ask a question” feature to assist you with any additional information about the item, the payment terms, or shipping costs. 

Why are some items not available for shipping?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide shipping on items due to the size, weight, hazardous or fragile nature of some of the items we sell. Given these circumstances, these items will be marked in the description as “pickup only”. It is the responsibility of the winning bidder to collect the item or to arrange shipping through UPS - please contact 1-877-888-7376 for a quote.

Can I combine items for shipping?

Combining items for shipping is allowed given that they can safely be packaged together. For each additional item there will be a charge of $5.00. Some exceptions may apply for heavier items.

Can I pick up my items?

Yes, we have a dedicated area accessible through our drive up parking lot door marked “Online Auction Item Pick-Up” (1001 Petrolia Road at the corner of Limestone Crescent, Toronto).  Please bring with you a printed copy of the invoice at the time of your pickup.  Without prior authorization and consent, pickup items will only be released to the winning bidder.  

There is no charge to pick up your paid item(s) at our location in person (1001 Petrolia Road, Toronto), Tuesday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m, with the exception of Wednesday, where we are open until 7:30pm (closed on major holidays).  In the event that an item is not picked up (or shipping requested) within 7 days, Platinum Liquidations Inc. deems this item has abandoned. This item will be subject to storage fees and payment will not be refunded.

How do I know if I'm the high bidder on an item?

The high bidder (or current winning bidder) is always displayed at the top of the BID HISTORY list beside each auction item.  Note: If you are the current high bidder and get outbid, you will recieve an email notification.

Physical / Onsite Auctions

How often do you hold auctions?

Typically GENERAL auctions (featuring vehicles and consumer merchandise) are held once per month on a Saturday at 10:00 a.m. During the summer months (June, July and August) auctions are held on a Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.  INDUSTRIAL auctions (featuring construction and safety items/supplies) are held on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Auction dates are always posted on our website in advance.

Who can attend the auctions?

Our auctions are open to the public.  You must be at least 18 years old to register as a bidder.  Individuals under the age of 18 may attend if accompanied on the premises at all times by a registered bidder.

I can’t attend the auction, can I bid online?

Yes, beginning in September 2013 through our “platinumliquidations.com” website you will be able to register and bid on items auctioned at our physical / onsite auctions at the same time with the bidders in attendance.

Where are the auctions located?

Auctions are typically held at 1001 Petrolia Road, Toronto, Ontario (main intersection Keele & Steeles Avenue). If the location is different it will be posted on our website.

How long will the auction last?

Pre-registration / inspection begins 90 minutes prior to the auction start.  Weekday INDUSTRIAL auctions and evening GENERAL auctions typically last 4 hours.  A regular Saturday GENERAL auction will typically run until 3:00 p.m. Check-out is typically a very busy time so please have patience with our staff as they are trying to accommodate everyone.

Do you have vehicles?

Platinum Liquidations Inc. is known for having a wide variety of goods at our auctions. We always have vehicles in our GENERAL auctions and usually also have construction related vehicles & equipment in our INDUSTRIAL auction.

What kinds of items do you have in this auction?

At all times, Platinum Liquidations Inc., has a variety of goods for public auction. Typically our GENERAL auctions include vehicles, equipment, computers, electronics, jewellery, power tools, industrial supplies, home & garden, sporting supplies and much more. Please check our website for up to the minute product listings.

How much does it cost to come to the auction?

There is no charge to visit the auction and $3.00 to register for a bidder number (includes catalogue and pen).  To register for a bidder number photo ID along with is a $200 refundable deposit (cash or credit card – M/C or Visa) is also required.  If you do not purchase any items at our auction your deposit will be immediately refunded.  You can use your deposit to pay for purchased items or choose another accepted payment method.

When should I come to the Auction?

Pre-registration is available the day before the auction and on the day of the auction.  Pre-registration is always a good idea in order to avoid line ups.

How do I bid?

Relax, you will not end up owning an auction item because you waved, sneezed or stretched.  We want our auctions to be an enjoyable experience for everyone.  Our auctioneers always make eye contact with the bidder to make sure of their intentions.  To bid, look at the auctioneer and raise up your arm or catalogue.

If I buy an item how long do I have to pay?

Payment times vary from auctions but are typically 24-48 hours (always at least 24 hours). 

How can I pay for my purchased items?

We accept Cash, Interact/debit cards, MasterCard, Visa, Money Order and Certified cheques.

How long do I have to pick up my purchased items?

Pick up times vary from auctions, but are typically 36-72 hours (always at least 36 hours).   We are open Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for item pick up.
